Instruction
1. Dump out any leftover coffee from the carafe and empty the basket of the old coffee
ground and filter.
6. Rinse out any vestiges of vinegar by brewing water only through the coffee maker twice more, again shutting of the coffee maker and letting it cool about 15 minutes between cycles.
2. Rinse the carafe in cold water then fill with 2 cups white vinegar
3. Pour the vinegar into the coffee maker's reservoir and turn the maker on to brew a pot. If you have a STRONG setting or CLEAN setting use that, if not just use regular. Once the brewing cycle starts, let approx. 1 cup of vinegar come through into pot, then shut off the coffee maker. Let remaining vinegar sit in tank part.
4. Allow the vinegar solution to sit for no less than 15 minutes the longer it sits the longer it can eat away at the lime and ick inside. (I usually do 1 hour)
5. After time is up, turn coffee maker back on and let remaining vinegar run through into pot. You should see all kinds of particles in the pot. After it is done, poor out that vinegar, now add 1 cup vinegar and 1 cup water and repeat same process as above, (depending on how much particles come out 2nd time you can repeat process a 3rd or 4th time.
6. Rinse out any vestiges of vinegar by brewing water only through the coffee maker twice more, again shutting of the coffee maker and letting it cool about 15 minutes between cycles.
7. Wash the carafe and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse and get ready to enjoy great-tasting coffee once again.
