INGREDIENTS
1 ½ lbs ground beef1 box stuffing mix (not the cornbread kind)1½ cups milk½ cup diced onion¼ tsp black pepper1 tsp garlic powder1 tsp onion powder1 egg3 small cans or 1¾ cups sliced fresh mushrooms2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce½ tsp salt4 cups beef broth¾ cup water3 Tbsp cornstarch1 pkt. brown gravy mix
INSTRUCTIONS
In a medium bowl combine the box of stuffing and the milk and set aside for a minute or two. Next in a large bowl add the ground beef, onions, black pepper and salt to taste, garlic and onion powder, and egg. After stuffing has soaked up the milk add the mixture to the meat bowl and mix well by hand. Divide into six equal portions. Shape each into a 1 inch thick patty. Coat a skillet with cooking oil and cook patties for 5 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet; keep warm.
Add mushrooms to the skillet and saute on medium for three minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt and beef broth; cook for another ten minutes.
Return patties to the skillet, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the patties to a platter; keep warm. Combine water, cornstarch, and brown gravy mix well then add to broth mixture, stirring well. Bring to a boil then cook ONE minute more. Serve over patties and mashed potatoes or rice.
