Homemade Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup
Homemade Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup Recipe
Makes about 16 ounces (2 cups)
Ingredients:
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/4 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dash salt
Directions:
Use a big saucepan – at least 2 quarts. This will expand when boiling, and overflows will make a big mess on your stove top! I use a 3-quart saucepan.
Combine the cocoa powder, water, sugar and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix with a whisk until smooth.
Stir constantly with a whisk or a wooden spoon until it boils.
Allow it to boil for 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla.
Syrup will be very thin/watery. Allow to cool completely and it will thicken to about the same consistency as Hershey’s syrup.
Store the syrup in a mason jar or any other container. It will keep for several weeks in the fridge. If you want to be really sneaky, pour the cooled syrup into an empty or almost-empty Hershey’s syrup container and see if anyone notices the difference!

Homemade Queso Blanco Cheese and Cheese Sauce
- 1 Gallon / 3.75lt Full cream cows or goats milk
- 60ml Cider vinegar (plus a little extra on the side)
- Salt to taste (non-iodated)
- Pour the milk into a large pot over medium low heat. Over a period of 20 to 30 minutes bring the milk up to a temperature of 83c or 180f stirring regularly.
- Once at this temperature, hold the temperature here for 10 minutes by toggling the heat on and off as required.
- Pour in the cider vinegar and stir continuously while the curds form. If the whey is not clear after a minute or so, add a little more vinegar, stirring continuously while you do this, until the whey is clear.
- Remove the pot from the heat and pour the curds into a muslin lined colander in your sink. Allow the curds to drain briefly, then fold the edges of the muslin over the cheese.
- Place and upturned side plate on top the cheese and weigh this down with about 5lb of weight.
- Let the cheese press and drain for 3 hours.
- Unwrap the cheese and trim the rough edge from the cheese. The trimmings can be used in any dish, so don’t discard them.
- You will see that the cheese has a medium firm feel, and is remarkably similar in texture and taste to haloumi cheese.
- If you’re not using the cheese immediately, salt both sides of the cheese and refrigerate wrapped in cling-wrap.
- In our next episode we will use this queso blanco to make an amazing butter-fried Queso Blanco cheese dish.
- Makes 600-800g of cheese
- 200g Queso Blanco cheese
- 200ml Cultured Buttermilk
- 2 Pickled Jalepenos
- Salt to taste
- Dried red chilli flakes to garnish
- Dice the queso blanco into small pieces, chop the pickled jalepeno chillies, and measure out the cultured buttermilk. You will also want a teaspoon of red chilli flakes to garnish.
- Place all of the ingredient except the chilli flakes into a jug. Using a stick blender, zap this until smooth and creamy.
- Season the creamy sauce with salt to taste. Decant the dip to serving bowls, garnish each with a pinch of chilli flakes and serve immediately.

~~SHARE this RECIPE to SAVE for LATER~~ And take this to your next gathering and impress your friends!! They will beg you for this recipe!!
I love peppers!!!
Jalapeño Popper Dip ~ everyone will ask for your recipe!
6-8 slices of bacon, diced and cooked crispy
2 8-oz packages of cream cheese, soft
1 cup of mayonnaise
4-6 jalapeno's, chopped and deseeded. The seeds will make it fiery hot.
1 cup of cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup diced green onion
Topping:
1 cup of crushed crackers ( I used Ritz)
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 stick of butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350.
Combine all of the ingredients into a medium bowl. Stir well.
Transfer to an oven proof dish. The size of the dish depends on how thick the dip is. The thicker the dip the longer it may need to warm up. I used this stoneware dish that is round and measures 12 inches across. My dip is usually about an inch thick.
Combine the topping ingredients and sprinkle all over the top of the dip.
Bake the dip for 20-30 minutes or until bubbly

---
Set up tables to make it look romantic. Use candles and decorate tables.
Have the teens serve the people. Take their orders so you know exactly what
they want on their plate. Do a "suggested donation" so if people can't afford
to go, they still can to enjoy the fellowship! When we did this fundraiser,
others gave more of a donation and that evened it out for those who
couldn't. It was the "talk of the church" for a week! ---

10 lb. meat loaf mix (beef, pork, veal)
10 large cans Italian "pear" tomatoes
20 medium size green peppers, chopped
10 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
10 (1 lb.) cans regular tomatoes
20 large onions, chopped
20 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 c. sugar
20 tsp. oregano
salt and pepper to taste
1 c. olive oil
-Fry peppers and onions briefly in olive oil. Remove to large kettles. Brown meat loaf mix quickly,
breaking it up as it cooks. Add to kettles with tomatoes, garlic and oregano.
Remove sausage from casing, break up and add mixing all thoroughly.
(A wire potato masher works fine for this job.) Simmer about 2 hours, stirring as needed.
Add tomato paste, sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Continue simmering 1/2 hour.
Add water if needed to keep from sticking or to thin for serving.

Just Like "Cheeseburger in Paradise" Fried Pickles
Ingredients
For the sauce:
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon drained horseradish
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
For the pickles:
- Peanut or vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4teaspoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Kosher salt
- 2 cups sliced dill pickles, drained
Directions
Fry the pickles: Heat 1 inch peanut oil in a pot over medium-high heat until a deep-fry thermometer registers 375 degrees F. Meanwhile, whisk the flour, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup water in a large bowl until smooth. Spread the pickles on paper towels and pat dry.
Add half of the pickles to the batter and toss to coat. Remove from the batter using a slotted spoon, letting the excess drip off, and add to the oil one at a time. Fry until golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes; remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Return the oil to 375 degrees F and repeat with the remaining pickles and batter. Serve immediately with the prepared sauce.
